My Quick Verdict
The Power Source 660 uses a 55-amp-hour sealed lead-acid battery rather than a lithium battery, and that single decision explains almost everything about how it performs.
Conversion is 68%, the weakest AC figure in our entire database. Of the 660 watt-hours on the label, 211 never reach the outlets. You are buying a 660Wh unit and using a 449Wh one.
That is not a manufacturing fault. Lead-acid batteries lose capacity under heavy load in a way that lithium batteries do not, and a 1,440-watt inverter is a heavy load.
What it does offer is external terminals for daisy-chaining additional lead-acid batteries and 1,440 watts of continuous output. The waveform is a modified sine at over 28% distortion.
Best for: Anyone with existing 12V lead-acid batteries to chain, running tolerant loads that do not care about waveform.
Not for: Electronics of any kind, regular cycling, or anyone comparing the cost of ownership.
