My Quick Verdict

The Plus is the expandable version of the Explorer 1000 line, and that single difference changes what the unit is for.

While v2 is permanently fixed at 1,070Wh, this accepts battery packs that take the system past 5kWh. A unit bought for weekends becomes a household backup without replacing anything.

An 87% conversion returns 1,100 Wh, and 2,000 watts continuous is a strong rating for the capacity. 800 watts of solar power fill the pack in about 1.8 hours.

The transfer is a 20-millisecond EPS with self-arming. It catches an unattended outage, which is the harder half, but 20 milliseconds falls outside the band where a computer reliably survives.

Best for: Households that want to start modest and grow, and anyone who values a large brand’s support network.

Not for protecting computers or network equipment, where the 20-millisecond transfer is marginal.
